As I dug into my old website to find material for this “Throwback Thursday,” I ran across this post and thought, “Gee, almost all of this is still so true today.”
Freelance writing just may be a “timeless” career. Except for a few refences to outdated things like Frontpage software, there’s a wealth of info here that can really give you years worth of a head start on your competition. So, without further ado, here it is. . .
10 Lessons I’ve Learned from 19+ Years as a Freelancer & Recruiter in the Editorial Industry
If you’ve read any of my work before, you probably know that I’ve been in publishing since 1987, have been a freelancer since 1993 and ran an editorial staffing agency in New York City from 1996 through 2004. Some lessons I’ve learned from this crazy journey are as follows:
