3. Social Media: As of October 2011, the site’s editor has over 10,000 Twitter followers (and it grows every day). I tweet all posts written for the site, and am actively involved with my Twitter followers.

4. Niche Site: InkwellEditorial.com is a niche site (freelance, work from home focus). This means traffic is more targeted.

5. Headed by Industry Authority: The site is headed by me, Yuwanda Black. I’m a trusted information provider in the freelance writing community (and on the web in general). Proof? Just Google my name.

Here’s one particularly glowing testimonial I like, taken from Alexa.com.

Yuwanda Black is not only one of the best SEO copywriters out there, she’s a very generous human being. I say this based on the fact that she gives away a tremendous amount of great information through her newsletter and blog. I haven’t met Yuwanda but I’m an enthusiastic fan. This is coming from someone in the same business she’s in: SEO copywriting.

6. Over a Decade Online: Inkwell Editorial has been online since 1999. It is well-known in freelance writing circles. If you strive to reach this niche, it’s a good place to appear.

7. Top Blog Appearances: Inkwell Editorial has appeared on some top blogs in the freelance writing niche, eg, CopyBlogger.com, FreelanceSwitch.com and FreelanceWritingGigs.com, to name a few. I constantly write and submit guest post articles to top blogs like this to drive traffic to the site.

8. Updated Weekly: The site keeps visitors coming back regularly via regular weekly posts that contain in-depth, informative content that helps readers solve problems. It’s one of the reasons it’s a go-to site for many freelancers.

9. Weekly Newsletters: InkwellEditorial.com publishes two weekly newsletters, which is distributed to over 6,000 subscribers.

10. Ads Appear on Every Page of the Site: That’s a lot of coverage! With every click, your ad is there.

11. Marketing, Marketing & More Marketing: Following are some ways I’m increasing the reach of the site:

Amazon Publisher: I recently started publishing ebooks on Amazon, with a goal of publishing 50 there by year’s end. This in and of itself has generated a lot of interest in the site, as self-publishing is a growing trend and is particularly popular with freelance writers.

Article Marketing: I’m an avid article marketer, submitting between 2-3 articles per week to top article directories like EzineArticles.com. Again, just Google my name to see all of the content I’ve written and the popular article directories they pop up in.

Video Marketing: This year, I posted Inkwell’s first video to YouTube (the living in Jamaica series), with plans to post many more.

Popular Series: The above videos are from the popular Girl a Go Go travel series, about my life as an American living abroad and working as a freelance writer in a foreign country. This series is extremely popular with the site’s readers.

12. It’s Affordable: Literally less than $1/day. Only $24.95 per month for a plain text ad. $74.95 for a “review ad.”

13. Content-driven Site: Content is what drives traffic, especially in light of Google’s Panda algorithmic udpate in February 2011. It’s made “content marketing” the topic du jour nowadays. And, I give site readers plenty of it — in-depth posts that help them solve problems (eg, land freelance writing jobs, market better, set writing rates, make money online in affiliate marketing, etc.).

14. PR Rank: As the graphic highlights, the site’s home page has a PR rank of 5. FYI, anything over 3 is considered extremely good. Learn more about PR rank. Source: PRChecker.info.

15. Respect: As a web entrepreneur myself, I know how hard it can be to make money on the web. And, I realize how hard you work for your money. That’s why I work hard to make the site appealing to potential buyers of your product, and won’t accept ads that compromise the integrity of the site.

DETAILS ON TYPE OF ADS WE ACCEPT

Text Ads ($24.95): Ads are limited to 100 characters and only text ads are allowed. All ads will be live within 48 hours of receipt, and will run for 30 days. You will be sent a renewal option before your ad expires.

Review eProduct and Place Text Ad ($74.95): These types of ads take 4-5 business days to complete. Following are the particulars.

Must be an e-product: I only review ebooks.

Length of ebook: Must be 50 pages or less. At InkwellEditorial.com, a page is 8.5 x 11, 1-inch margins all around, Times Roman, 12-point type; double-spaced.

Email it to me: Send it to [info]at[InkwellEditorial.com] after you place your ad. Put “Review eProduct and Place Text Ad” in the subject line. This is extremely important, as I get a lot of email and it will help me to quickly locate your product.

About the review: It will be at least 400 words, usually much more because I tend to be a wordy writer. FYI, I give honest reviews. I will not give you a good review simply because you place an ad. And, there are no refunds on ad placements once they have been ordered. You have 24 hours from the time I send you the review to let me know whether you want me to post it to the site.

If I don’t hear from you within this time period, I reserve right to simply place your text ad and link out to your website, without the review being posted.

All reviews stay live on the site forever. However, if you don’t renew your ad, the text ad that appears on every page of the site  when you pay for placement will be removed after 30 days. As an aside, review ads are nice because you in essence get permanent site placement for a one-time fee ($74.95).

Ads That are Not Acceptable: I reserve the right to reject any ad for any reason. I will not publish ads that promote products and services that are offensive, illegal or what I otherwise deem harmful to the site’s audience (eg, MLM scams, work from home scams like “pay for job leads” sign-up services, payday advance services, etc.).

Products/Services That Do Well Here

Remember, our audience is: educated, seeking work-from-home/make money online opportunities, mostly female and tend not to have children at home. Ask yourself the following questions before you place an ad: (i) does my product appeal to this audience; and (ii) why?

If you can answer these two questions, then your ad will probably do well here.
